I'm up ready to head for the hospital in just a few moments, but I had to send out another thank you for the many people who visited our family throughout the extended weekend and the many of you who have called, brought food, posted comments (thanks Wendy for the tip!) or emailed such loving thoughts to me.
I'm reminded of being in Spain with our good friends Kurt and Joey (who drove from Columbus, OH to Indy to see us, then back to South Bend...crazy people!). We were trying to find our hotel in a very tiny, OLD town and as we drove down a cobble-stoned street, it became very clear that we might not squeeze through as it was so very narrow. But of course, we had highly educated people in the van! So Ted said to Joey...pull the mirrors in, we're goin' in!...and with Ted's head hanging out one window and Joey's head hanging out the other window, we got through the narrow place and came out the other side!

Mike and I awoke this am and prayed for you and for the surgeon and his team. We know that God is soverign and is wrapping His arms around you right now. We pray for no sign of cancer in the lymph nodes! All our love and good thoughts are with you and your wonderful family! Midge and Mike Akers
